Methodology

How the carrier screen is built

Source. Every visible carrier rating and product count comes from current CANNEX product data delivered through AdvisorWorld. Premium, state, family, term, threshold, and name filter are the user’s hypothetical inputs.

Cadence and freshness. Current data refreshes every ten minutes. The visible date comes only from a verified CANNEX refresh date; the time you view the page, capture timestamps, and carrier effective dates are never substituted.

Formula notes. Products are grouped by the exact issuing carrier and each product is counted once. FIA products identified as RILA are excluded. Conflicting AM Best values withhold the carrier’s rating rather than selecting one.

Scope. Counts describe products observed in the selected query, not a carrier’s full lineup. Ratings are opinions of the rating agency and can change. Guarantees rely on the issuing insurer’s claims-paying ability and are not FDIC-insured.

How to cite this tool

A citation another reader can verify

“AnnuityRatesHQ Carrier Strength Overview, CANNEX product data via AdvisorWorld, annuityrateshq.com/carrier-strength-overview.”

Link to the result so readers can reopen the same hypothetical premium, state, annuity category, MYGA term, and minimum AM Best rating. Include the CANNEX data date shown with that result when available. Do not cite a product count as the carrier’s complete lineup.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an AM Best financial-strength rating measure?

An AM Best financial-strength rating is an opinion about an insurer’s ability to meet ongoing insurance obligations. It is not a guarantee, a product rating, or a recommendation to buy an annuity.

Does the highest-rated carrier always offer the best annuity?

No. Carrier financial strength is one diligence factor. Product terms, state availability, surrender schedules, liquidity, rider costs, and how the contract fits a specific goal still matter.

Why does this page count products observed instead of a carrier’s full lineup?

The count is limited to distinct products included in the selected current CANNEX data. Calling it a full carrier lineup would overstate what the data proves.

What happens if the supplied carrier ratings disagree?

The tool withholds the rating and does not rank that issuing carrier. Conflicting or unrecognized values are set aside for review instead of choosing the stronger value.

How current is the product-feed context shown here?

The page refreshes its current product data regularly. A visible as-of date appears only when every selected source has a current CANNEX refresh date; it is not an AM Best rating effective date, and the time you open the page is never shown as data freshness.
